LLC Blethers is a conference with a twist. The event consists of three panels of three PechaKucha presentations each. The presenters will address all aspects of academic and non-academic life in the School of Literature, Languages and Cultures community. The innovative and fast-paced PechaKucha format requires presenters to use only 20 slides and only 20 seconds per slide, thus creating a lively and fun setting for an informal get together. Presentations can address research, the stresses of academic life, projects at LLC, or any other topic related to their experience in University. At the end of the presentations there will be a quick round of questions for each presenter in order to spark stimulating discussion. Blethers is hosted at a pub or similar casual
venue, to ensure a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Food and drinks are provided, along
with prizes for the best presentations. The winners are chosen by a jury of staff and
faculty members. A pub quiz will also be run to ensure further interaction between attendees and to strengthen the bonds between members of the LLC community. Merging together the “serious” and the “lighter” side of academical life and research, Blethers has therefore the power to unlock new ways of thinking and to promote cultural diversity through an interdisciplinary, humanistic approach.
