Matthew C. Wilson - lecture accompanied by objects and video​

During Preface: An Excursion to Scientific Ghost-land methods ranging from projection of moving images to intervention in the movement of breath will draw out entanglements of geology, biology, industry, and ideology across historical and stellar temporalities.

As part of the Talbot Rice Projects, artist Matthew C. Wilson has been working with the University’s collections and archives as well as meeting extensively with University faculty and researchers. Wilson will present material from his ongoing research, collaborations, and conversations.

Bio

Matthew C. Wilson is an American artist based in the Netherlands working primarily in video and sculpture. Wilson holds an MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University. He has been a participant at the Whitney Independent Study Program and numerous residencies including the Jan van Eyck Academie and Skowhegan. Recently, Wilson launched the Spectral.Exchange platform as an outcome of an Artistic Research Residency at Tabakalera in San Sebastián, Spain, and premiered his short film Within the Temple Without at IFFR - International Film Festival Rotterdam. Wilson is currently Artist in Residence at Aalto University in Helsinki. http://www.matthewcwilson.com/
